Creative arts

Creative arts is mandatory for students from Kindergarten to Year 6.

In creative arts, students discover a variety of art forms through a study of dance, drama, music and visual arts where they learn to appreciate, compose, listen, make and perform.

Each art form has its own unique knowledge and skills, elements or concepts as well as a capacity to inspire and enrich lives.

Song Room

Dawson Public School have been lucky enough to participate in the Song Room Program. As part of this program, students from Kindy to Year 6 have the opportunity to sing and play different types of instruments.

One group of stage 3 students were so lucky to have been chosen to go to the Town Hall in Sydney to perform. Dawson was the only school in Australia invited to perform at town hall. The founding members were invited to have dinner and the whole group got to sing in front of 4000 people! WOW!

There also was a group who had four people in it. They got to sing a song called "Isn't she lovely''.
